As smartphone manufacturers continue to push materials and construction in hopes of one-upping the competition, the potential exists for embarrassing defects to surface. A new one that is cropping up in recent days involves the LG V20, the company’s latest flagship level device that they hope to use to overcome disappointment from LG G5 sales. Unfortunately, reports have started to surface indicating the glass cover over the rear camera module is prone to cracking.
Bad Camera Cover Glass
In the latest report related to the LG V20, a user on Reddit shows the shattered glass cover seemingly emanating from the LED flash, which can double as a flashlight on a smartphone. According to the report, the user had been using the flashlight function for about 30 minutes when the damage was discovered.
Not the first incident
Apparently this is not the first such incident reported concerning the camera’s glass cover on an LG V20 as another Reddit user suffered a similar fate mere hours after taking their new device out of the box. The LG V20 is also not the first smartphone to suffer from a possible issue concerning the glass cover for the rear camera. Over the course of the past year, some owners of the Nexus 6P, which is manufactured by Huawei, also found the glass covering to be brittle and prone to cracking.
