Apple will soon be releasing the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus in September this year with a brand new iOS 10 and according to the latest rumors, the interface may be somewhat different with several new changes.
Here are a few leaks regarding iOS 10.
iOS 10 release date
Apple is planning to launch iOS 10 on June 13 at WWDC (World Wide Developer Conference) keynote event with complete features including HomeKit, Apple news, and Siri.
While the iOS 10 beta version should be available to developers immediately, the final version may take a bit more time and may be released in July after developers perform a thorough investigation on the beta version.
However, a stable version of iOS is expected to be released in September with the launch of iPhone 7 and 7 Plus.
iOS 10 compatibility
While iOS 9 was still compatible with the iPhone 4S and iPad 2, the situation will be different with the release of iOS 10 because it will require 512 MB of RAM.
However, the iPhone 6S, iPhone 6, iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C, iPhone 6S plus and iPhone 6 Plus too and even iPhone SE will be compatible with iOS 10.
As for the iPad family, iPad Pro 9.7 and 12.9, iPad Air 2, iPad mini 4, iPad mini 3 and the iPad mini will have no compatibility issues with iOS 10.
Siri and voicemail features
As usual, Apple is planning a Siri update this time round too as it does each year. Siri may even go as far as being able to handle your voicemails. According to rumors, Siri will handle your voicemail by transcribing voice mail messages and informing the caller why you can’t receive the call.
Siri voicemail is reportedly part of Apple’s iCloud voicemail which is an improved version of the standard digital audio recorder.
Apple Homekit is all set to become smarter and better with the launch of iOS 10. Apple’s home tab will bring a revolution to all your Apple devices including iPhones, iPads and Apple TV’s which can be transformed into remotes for every gadget that can run on the internet.
Apple Music redesign
Apple Music will be celebrating its first anniversary in WWDC 2016 and along with that, we shall witness an interface revamp.
Expect steady improvement on the black-and-white menus as well as livelier muted colors.
Furthermore, rumors suggest that iOS 10 will allow song lyrics, something that everyone is excited about.
iOS 10 Touch ID
iOS 10 Touch ID is one of the best features we anticipate with the launch of iOS 10. Touch ID had an impressive performance on the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus due to its accuracy.
iOS 9 also improved in a way that it allowed for easier notification view in the pull down menu by arranging them in chronological order.
The other features that iOS 10 will come with remain a mystery, but with the June 13 release so near, there is still a lot to anticipate.
